BBQ Chicken Pizza

A simple and tasty BBQ Chicken Pizza that is easy to make at home, featuring cooked chicken, BBQ sauce, and melted cheese.

Ingredients

  • Pizza dough
  • Cooked chicken breast
  • BBQ sauce
  • Mozzarella cheese
  • Red onion
  • Fresh cilantro
  • Olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 475°F and roll out pizza dough on a floured surface to desired thickness. Transfer to a greased pizza pan or baking sheet and brush edges with olive oil.
  2. Shred or chop the cooked chicken breast into bite-sized pieces and toss with 2 tablespoons of BBQ sauce until well coated.
  3. Spread remaining BBQ sauce evenly over the pizza dough, leaving a 1-inch border for the crust. Sprinkle half of the mozzarella cheese over the sauce.
  4. Distribute the BBQ chicken pieces and sliced red onions evenly over the cheese. Top with remaining mozzarella cheese.
  5. Bake for 12-15 minutes until the crust is golden brown and cheese is bubbly. Remove from oven and immediately sprinkle fresh cilantro over the hot pizza before serving.

Notes

For a crisp crust, use warm dough and a hot oven. Don’t overload with toppings, as too much weight can make the crust soggy. For a spicy kick, add hot sauce or red pepper flakes. Smoked chicken or rotisserie chicken can be used for more flavor.
