Cajun Chicken Sloppy Joes

Quick and flavorful Cajun Chicken Sloppy Joes that are perfect for busy weeknights, combining ground chicken with bold spices and a creamy cheddar sauce.

  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 1 cup onion, diced
  • 1 cup bell pepper, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 4 brioche buns
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for cooking

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the onions and bell peppers, and sauté until soft. Stir in the garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  2. Add the ground chicken to the skillet, cooking until browned. Season with Cajun seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  3. Stir in the ketchup and Worcestershire sauce, and let simmer for about 10 minutes.
  4. In a separate pot, melt the cheddar cheese over low heat until smooth.
  5. Toast the brioche buns.
  6. Assemble the Sloppy Joes by placing the chicken mixture on the bottom half of the bun and drizzling with the cheddar cheese sauce. Top with the other half of the bun. Serve immediately.

Notes

For a variation, you can substitute ground chicken with ground turkey or plant-based meat. Adjust heat to taste by adding more or less Cajun seasoning.
