Caramel Chocolate Crunch Bars

Delicious bars combining rich chocolate and caramel with a satisfying crunch from rice cereal.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup crisp rice cereal
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine sugar, cocoa powder, and butter. Cook over low heat until melted and smooth.
  2. Stir in the sweetened condensed milk and bring to a gentle boil, stirring constantly until it thickens slightly.
  3. Remove from heat and add vanilla extract.
  4. In a large bowl, combine the crisp rice cereal, chocolate chips, and nuts. Gradually pour the caramel mixture over the cereal mixture and stir until well coated.
  5. Spread the mixture into a greased baking dish and press it down firmly.
  6. Allow to cool completely before cutting into bars. Enjoy your homemade treats!

Notes

Make sure to press the mixture firmly into the baking dish to ensure bars hold their shape. Can be made ahead of time and stored in an airtight container.
