Chicken Kofta with Garlic Yogurt Sauce

Juicy ground chicken koftas grilled to perfection and served with a cool garlic yogurt sauce.

Ingredients

  • 500 grams ground chicken
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • Pinch of salt (for sauce)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground chicken, chopped onion, minced garlic, parsley, cumin, coriander, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
  2. Form the mixture into small oval-shaped koftas.
  3. Preheat the grill and brush it with olive oil.
  4. Grill the koftas for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally until cooked through.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix yogurt, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt to prepare the garlic yogurt sauce.
  6. Serve the grilled koftas with the garlic yogurt sauce on the side.

Notes

Serve koftas on warm pita bread with sliced vegetables or over rice. Can be stored in the fridge for up to three days.
