Chicken Philly Cheese Steaks

Quick and tasty Chicken Philly Cheese Steaks made with tender chicken, caramelized peppers and onions, all topped with melted cheese in a soft hoagie roll.

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 1 bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 cup provolone cheese (or cheese of choice)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • Optional: condiments like mayo or mustard

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper, then cook in the skillet until golden and cooked through, about 6-7 minutes per side. Remove and let rest, then slice.
  3. In the same skillet, add sliced onions and bell peppers, and sauté until they are soft and caramelized, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Add the sliced chicken back into the skillet with the veggies and stir to combine.
  5. Split the hoagie rolls open and place the chicken and vegetable mixture inside.
  6. Top with provolone cheese and cover with a lid until the cheese melts.
  7. Serve hot with your favorite condiments.

Notes

Serve with a side of pickles, potato chips, or fries for a complete meal. Great for leftovers and can be reheated easily.
