Chocolate Chip Cookies

Delicious, classic chocolate chip cookies that are soft on the inside and slightly crisp on the outside.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips
  • Coarse sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the vanilla extract and eggs until well blended.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually blend this dry mixture into the creamed mixture.
  5. Stir in the chocolate chips and white chocolate chips.
  6. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased cookie sheets.
  7. Sprinkle the coarse sugar on top of each cookie before baking.
  8. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes in the preheated oven, or until golden.
  9. Remove from the oven and let cool on the sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

For chewier cookies, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking. Add a pinch of sea salt on top for extra flavor.
