Chocolate Crinkle Cookies

Delightful soft and chewy cookies with a sweet, cracked sugar-coated exterior.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix the granulated sugar, brown sugar, cocoa powder, and vegetable oil until well combined.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this to the wet mixture until just combined.
  5. Chill the dough in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
  6. Roll tablespoonfuls of dough into balls, then roll each ball in powdered sugar.
  7. Place the cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set.
  9. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. For longer storage, freeze them.
