Chocolate Lava Cookies

Deliciously soft cookies with a molten chocolate center, perfect for satisfying your chocolate cravings quickly.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 6 ounces dark chocolate, chopped (save bigger pieces for the centers)
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt, plus flaky salt for topping
  • Optional: 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cream the butter with brown and white sugar until fluffy.
  3. Add eggs and vanilla, mixing well.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until just combined.
  6. Fold in mini chocolate chips if desired.
  7. Scoop the dough into balls and press a larger chocolate chunk into the center of each ball, sealing it with a bit of dough.
  8. Space the dough balls on the baking sheet and bake for 8 to 10 minutes.
  9. Let them rest on the tray for 5 minutes before serving. Enjoy warm for that gooey center!

Notes

For a seasonal twist, consider adding pumpkin spice.
