Chocolate Orange Cheesecake

A rich and creamy cheesecake combining the classic flavors of chocolate and refreshing orange, perfect for special occasions.

  • 2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 4 (8-ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate, melted
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 large eggs
  • Fresh orange slices for garnish
  • Chocolate shavings for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs and melted butter. Press this mixture into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan to form the crust.
  3. In a large bowl, beat together sugar and cream cheese until smooth and creamy.
  4. Add sour cream, melted chocolate, orange zest, and vanilla extract to the mixture; mix until well combined.
  5. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  6. Pour the cheesecake batter over the crust in the springform pan.
  7. Bake for 55-60 minutes, or until the center is set with a slight jiggle.
  8. Turn off the oven and let the cheesecake cool inside for 1 hour with the door slightly ajar.
  9. Chill the cheesecake in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
  10. Before serving, garnish with fresh orange slices and chocolate shavings.

Notes

Make sure cream cheese is at room temperature for easy mixing.
