Chocolate Thumbprint Cookies

Soft, rich cookies filled with creamy chocolate ganache, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate ganache (made from heavy cream and chocolate)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the egg yolk and vanilla.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until combined.
  5. Roll the dough into small balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet. Use your thumb to make an indentation in each ball.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes. Let them cool slightly.
  7. Fill each indentation with chocolate ganache.
  8. Allow to set and enjoy!

Notes

For best flavor, use high-quality chocolate for the ganache.
