Classic Pepper Steak

A quick, tasty dish of beef, peppers, and onion in a savory sauce. This classic pepper steak cooks fast and pairs well with rice or noodles.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb beef sirloin, sliced thin
  • 2 bell peppers (any color), sliced
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • Cooked rice or noodles, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine sliced beef with soy sauce, oyster sauce, and cornstarch; let marinate for 15 minutes.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a large pan over medium-high heat.
  3. Add marinated beef and stir-fry until browned, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Add bell peppers, onion, and garlic; stir-fry for an additional 3-4 minutes until vegetables are tender.
  5. Serve hot over rice or noodles.

Notes

Slice beef thin across the grain for tender bites. Do not crowd the pan to ensure browning.
