A quick and easy recipe for crispy pastry straws filled with a creamy cranberry and orange mixture, perfect for breakfast, snacks, or dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet of puff pastry, thawed
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup cranberry sauce
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. On a lightly floured surface, roll out the puff pastry to smooth it. Cut into strips about 1 inch wide and 6 inches long.
  3. In a medium bowl, combine cream cheese, cranberry sauce, orange zest, and sugar until smooth and creamy.
  4. Spoon a small amount of filling at one end of each pastry strip, then fold over and seal the edges with a fork to form a filled pocket.
  5. Lightly brush the tops with the beaten egg for a shiny golden finish.
  6. Arrange on the baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until puffed and golden brown.
  7. Let cool slightly, then dust with powdered sugar before serving.
