Crispy Air Fryer Frozen Chicken Wings

Quick and easy air fryer chicken wings that go from frozen to crispy in just 20 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 to 1.5 pounds frozen chicken wings (skin-on preferred)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or avocado oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt, adjust to taste
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder (optional but recommended)
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Optional sauces or glazes: buffalo sauce, honey garlic glaze (honey, soy sauce, minced garlic), BBQ sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.
  2. Place frozen wings in a large mixing bowl. Drizzle with 1 tablespoon of olive or avocado oil and toss to coat evenly.
  3. Sprinkle 1 teaspoon salt, ½ teaspoon black pepper, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, and 1 teaspoon smoked paprika over the wings. Toss again to distribute the spices.
  4. Arrange wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket, leaving space between pieces for air circulation.
  5. Air fry at 400°F (200°C) for 20-22 minutes, flipping wings halfway through (around 10-11 minutes).
  6. Check that wings are golden brown and crispy. Use an instant-read thermometer to ensure the internal temperature reaches at least 165°F (74°C).
  7. If using sauce, toss hot wings in your choice of buffalo, BBQ, or honey garlic glaze immediately after cooking. For a sticky finish, return sauced wings to the air fryer for 2-3 minutes.
  8. Serve immediately while hot and crispy.

Notes

For best results, do not crowd the basket and ensure wings are evenly spaced.
