A delicious and easy recipe for savory Crockpot French Dip Sandwiches with tender beef and melted cheese served with au jus.

  • 2 pounds flank steak or chuck roast
  • 1 packet of onion soup mix
  • 1 can of beef broth (15 ounces)
  • 1 cup of water
  • 8 hoagie rolls
  • Sliced provolone or Swiss cheese
  • Optional toppings (e.g., sautéed onions, peppers)

Instructions

  1. Place the beef in a slow cooker.
  2. Mix the onion soup mix, beef broth, and water; pour over the beef.
  3. Cover and cook on low for 480 minutes or high for 240 minutes.
  4. Once cooked, shred the beef with two forks.
  5. Serve the shredded beef on hoagie rolls, topped with cheese.
  6. Serve with a side of au jus for dipping.

Notes

For thicker au jus, let it simmer before serving. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
