Christmas Crack Bark

Deliciously Easy Christmas Crack Bark that’s salty, sweet, and perfect for holiday snacking.

Ingredients

  • 1 sleeve Saltine crackers
  • 2 sticks Unsalted butter
  • 1 cup Brown sugar
  • 1 cup Semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • Toppings: crushed peppermint, toasted nuts, flaky salt, sprinkles, mini marshmallows

Instructions

  1. Line a rimmed sheet pan with foil and parchment; arrange Saltine crackers in a single layer.
  2. In a saucepan, melt butter and brown sugar over medium heat until combined. Allow to bubble for 3-5 minutes, stirring often until thickened and glossy.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla and a pinch of salt.
  4. Pour the toffee evenly over the crackers, nudging it into the corners.
  5. Bake at 350°F for 5-7 minutes until bubbling.
  6. Remove from the oven and sprinkle chocolate chips over the warm toffee, let sit for 2 minutes, then spread into a smooth layer.
  7. Add desired toppings while chocolate is still soft.
  8. Let it set at room temperature, then refrigerate for 1 hour to firm up.
  9. Break into pieces and enjoy!

Notes

For clean shards, chill until firm. If your kitchen is warm, store the bark in the fridge. This treat keeps perfectly for a week and can be frozen for up to 2 months.
