Homemade Funfetti Cake

A delightful homemade Funfetti cake that brings joy to any celebration, loaded with colorful rainbow sprinkles.

Ingredients

  • 2 and 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1 and 1/2 cups sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/2 cup rainbow sprinkles (jimmies style)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line your cake pans.
  2. In a bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cream together the butter and sugar until soft.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition, then mix in the vanilla.
  5. Alternately add the dry ingredients and milk, mixing until just combined.
  6. Gently fold in the rainbow sprinkles.
  7. Pour the batter into prepared pans and bake for 28-32 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Let cool completely before frosting.

Notes

For a delicious finish, consider a simple vanilla buttercream or cream cheese frosting. Freeze layers for easier stacking if making a layered cake.
