Strawberry Heaven

A delightful layered dessert made with fresh strawberries, soft cake, and whipped cream, perfect for summer gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 2 pints fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 pound cake or sponge cake (store-bought or homemade)
  • 2 cups fresh whipped cream

Instructions

  1. Slice the strawberries and sprinkle them with sugar. Let them sit for about 10 minutes to become juicy.
  2. Cut thick slices of the cake.
  3. Layer the cake at the bottom of a serving dish.
  4. Add a layer of strawberries on top of the cake, including some of the syrupy juices.
  5. Spread a generous layer of whipped cream on top of the strawberries.
  6. Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used.
  7. Chill for at least 30 minutes before serving.

Notes

It’s best served fresh, though leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two days.
