Decadent and luxurious, Dubai Chocolate Strawberries layer juicy fruit, rich chocolate, pistachio cream, and crispy kataifi for a show-stopping Middle Eastern-inspired dessert.
1 cup fresh strawberries, halved or quartered
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips or chopped dark chocolate
1 tbsp coconut oil (optional)
1/2 cup kataifi, chopped into 1-inch pieces
1 tbsp unsalted butter (or oil)
3 tbsp pistachio cream or butter
1 tsp tahini (optional)
Whipped cream, for topping (optional)
Gold sprinkles or melted white chocolate (optional)
1. Chop the kataifi into short strands and add to a skillet with melted butter.
2. Toast over medium heat, stirring constantly, until golden and crispy.
3. Remove from heat and stir in pistachio cream and optional tahini until smooth. Set aside.
4. In a microwave-safe bowl, add chocolate and coconut oil. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
5. Add a layer of strawberries to a dessert cup.
6. Drizzle with melted chocolate.
7. Add a layer of the kataifi-pistachio mixture.
8. Repeat the layering with more strawberries, chocolate, and kataifi mixture.
9. Top with whipped cream and optional gold sprinkles or white chocolate drizzle.
10. Serve immediately for best texture.
You can make the kataifi mixture ahead and store in the fridge. Reheat before layering.
