A quick and flavorful recipe for oven-roasted mushrooms with a savory-sweet blend of soy sauce and honey.

  • 16 oz (450g) fresh whole mushrooms (button or cremini)
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds (optional)
  • Fresh herbs (like parsley or cilantro) for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Clean the mushrooms with a damp cloth and trim the stems if necessary. You can leave them whole or slice them in half.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine soy sauce, honey, olive oil, minced garlic, and black pepper. Stir until well mixed.
  4. Add the cleaned mushrooms and toss to coat evenly.
  5. Spread the mushrooms in a single layer on a baking sheet and roast for about 20 minutes, tossing halfway through for even cooking.
  6. Optional: Add sesame seeds and chopped herbs before serving.

Notes

Serve warm on rice or toast. Store in the fridge for up to four days and reheat gently.
