Gordon Ramsay Ground Turkey Pasta

A quick, creamy pasta dish with ground turkey, perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces Penne Pasta
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 1 medium Yellow Onion
  • 1 pound Ground Turkey
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Italian Seasoning
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons All-purpose Flour
  • 1 cup Chicken Broth
  • 1 cup Tomato Sauce
  • ½ cup Half-and-half
  • 1 cup Mozzarella Cheese
  • 1 cup Cheddar Cheese
  • ¼ cup Fresh Parsley
  • 1 teaspoon Red Chili Flakes

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook penne until al dente according to package directions, then drain and set aside, saving a cup of pasta water.
  2. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add chopped onion and cook until soft, about 4 minutes.
  3. Add ground turkey, season with salt and pepper, and brown, breaking up clumps, about 6 to 8 minutes.
  4. Stir in minced garlic and Italian seasoning and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Sprinkle flour over the turkey and stir for one minute to cook the flour taste.
  6. Pour in chicken broth and tomato sauce, stir, and let simmer until it thickens slightly, about 5 minutes.
  7. Reduce heat and stir in half and half. Add mozzarella and cheddar a little at a time until melted and smooth.
  8. Toss the cooked penne into the sauce, add a splash of pasta water if needed to loosen. Mix well.
  9. Finish with chopped parsley and red chili flakes if using. Serve hot.

Notes

Pairs well with a green salad or garlic bread. Leftovers reheat nicely.
