  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  6. Drop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto ungreased baking sheets.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are firm but the centers are still soft.
  8. Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Serve warm or at room temperature. Store in an airtight container for up to a week or freeze for up to three months.
