Ground Beef and Broccoli

A quick and delicious dish combining ground beef and fresh broccoli, tossed in a flavorful sauce.

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Cooked rice for serving

Instructions

  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon.
  3. Once the beef is fully cooked, stir in the garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Add the broccoli florets and cook for 3-4 minutes, until tender but still crisp.
  5. In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, brown sugar, cornstarch, and black pepper.
  6. Pour the sauce over the beef and broccoli, stirring to coat everything evenly.
  7. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to thicken the sauce.
  8. Serve hot over cooked rice.

Notes

You can garnish with sesame seeds or green onions. For a kick, add red pepper flakes to the sauce.
