Ground Beef Philly Cheesesteaks

A quick and easy take on a Philly cheesesteak using ground beef for fast weeknight meals.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 2 hoagie rolls
  • 4 slices provolone cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add sliced onions and sauté until they are soft and caramelized, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Add ground beef to the skillet, breaking it apart and cooking until browned. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Once the beef is cooked, place slices of provolone cheese on top and cover the skillet to melt the cheese.
  5. Toast the hoagie rolls if desired.
  6. Fill each roll with the beef and onion mixture, then serve hot.

Notes

For a fun twist, try adding sliced mushrooms or hot peppers for extra flavor.
