Homemade Blueberry Sauce

A quick and fresh blueberry sauce that is simple to make and perfect for topping a variety of desserts.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh or frozen blueberries
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine the blueberries, sugar, lemon juice, and water.
  2. Cook until the blueberries start to break down, about 5 minutes.
  3. In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch with a little water to create a slurry.
  4. Add the slurry to the blueberry mixture and stir until thickened, about 1-2 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat and let cool before serving.

Notes

This sauce can be served warm or cold and is great over pancakes, yogurt, or ice cream.
