Homemade Cinnamon Sugar Bread

A soft loaf with a sweet cinnamon topping that’s quick and easy to make.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup sugar (for topping)
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, 1 cup sugar, baking powder, salt, and 1 teaspoon cinnamon.
  3. In another bowl, mix the milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  6. In a small bowl, mix 1/4 cup sugar and 2 tablespoons cinnamon for the topping.
  7. Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture generously over the batter.
  8. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then remove and place on a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Let the bread cool a bit before slicing to get clean slices. Store wrapped in plastic wrap or in an airtight container.
