Maraschino Cherry Chocolate Chip Cookies

Soft and chewy cookies infused with maraschino cherries and chocolate chips for a delightful twist on the classic chocolate chip cookie.

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup maraschino cherry juice
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup chopped maraschino cherries
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.
  4. Stir in the maraschino cherry juice.
  5. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until well combined.
  7. Fold in the chopped maraschino cherries and chocolate chips.
  8. Drop spoonfuls of the dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  9. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown.
  10. Let them cool on a wire rack before serving.

Notes

Chill dough for 15 minutes if too soft. Store cookies in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze for longer storage.
