A delightful layered cake combining chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry flavors in a single bake, perfect for celebrations.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup strawberry puree
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Vanilla frosting
  • Chocolate frosting
  • Strawberry frosting

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour three 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. Cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Sift together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt in another bowl.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with milk and mixing until just combined.
  6. Divide the batter into three bowls. Mix strawberry puree into one bowl, cocoa powder into the second bowl, and leave one bowl as vanilla.
  7. Pour each batter into prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
  9. Frost the chocolate layer with chocolate frosting, the vanilla layer with vanilla frosting, and the strawberry layer with strawberry frosting.
  10. Stack the layers on top of each other and decorate as desired. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

Use room temperature ingredients for better mixing and consider a crumb coat to minimize crumbs in the frosting.
