Classic New York Cheesecake

A rich, smooth, and creamy New York cheesecake featuring a graham cracker crust and a luscious cream cheese filling.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 packages (8 ounces each) Philadelphia cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup sour cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and 1/4 cup sugar. Mix well and press into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan to form the crust.
  3. In another bowl, beat the cream cheese until smooth. Gradually add 1 cup sugar and vanilla extract.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Pour in the sour cream and mix until smooth.
  6. Pour the cheesecake batter into the prepared crust.
  7. Bake for 55-60 minutes or until the center is set but slightly jiggly.
  8. Turn off the oven, crack the door, and let it cool slowly to prevent cracks.
  9. Once cooled, refrigerate for at least 4 hours before serving.

Notes

Use room temperature cream cheese for a smoother batter. Chill for at least 4 hours for the best texture.
