Olive Garden Copycat Breadsticks

Make soft, buttery breadsticks at home with little fuss using basic ingredients.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) instant yeast
  • 1 1/2 cups warm water (110°F)
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • Garlic powder (for seasoning)
  • Parmesan cheese (for topping)

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add flour, salt, and melted butter to the yeast mixture. Knead the dough until smooth and elastic, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm area for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  4. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  5. Punch down the dough and divide it into 12 equal pieces. Shape each piece into a long stick and place on a greased baking sheet.
  6. Allow the sticks to rise for another 30 minutes.
  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with garlic powder and Parmesan cheese before serving.

Notes

Serve warm with marinara, Alfredo, or garlic butter dip. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.
