Salted Caramel Chocolate Cookies

Delicious cookies with a rich chocolate base and a gooey salted caramel center, topped with a sprinkle of sea salt.

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup homemade salted caramel sauce
  • Sea salt (for sprinkling on top)

Instructions

    1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
    2. Cream together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
    3. Beat in the eggs and vanilla extract until well combined.
    4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.

<li gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.

  • Fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Scoop tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving space between each.
  • Create a small indentation in the center of each cookie and fill with a spoonful of salted caramel sauce.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes, until edges are set but centers are still soft.
  • Sprinkle with sea salt while warm.
  • Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

 

Notes

Serve warm for the best experience. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for about a week, or freeze for up to three months.
