2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup white sugar
1 egg
1 egg yolk
2 tsp vanilla extract
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment.
2. In a bowl, whisk flour, baking soda, and salt.
3. In another bowl, mix melted butter with sugars until smooth.
4. Add egg, yolk, and vanilla. Mix until combined.
5. Stir in dry ingredients until just mixed.
6. Fold in chocolate chips.
7. Scoop dough into 2 tbsp balls onto prepared sheets.
8. Bake 9–11 minutes, until edges are golden but centers are soft.
9. Cool on baking sheet for 5–10 minutes before transferring.
Dough can be frozen and baked directly—add 1–2 minutes to baking time.
Optional: Sprinkle sea salt on cookies before baking for extra flavor.
Use room temp eggs and slightly cooled butter for best texture.
