Ultimate Cheesy Ground Beef Melt

A deliciously cheesy and savory sandwich filled with seasoned ground beef and melted cheese, perfect for gatherings and easy meals.

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 4 slices sourdough or white bread
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef.
  2. Add the chopped onion and garlic, and sauté until the onion is translucent.
  3. Season with salt and pepper. Add Worcestershire sauce and beef broth. Simmer until the liquid reduces.
  4. Butter one side of each slice of bread and preheat a skillet or griddle over medium heat.
  5. Place two slices of bread, butter side down, in the skillet.
  6. Add cheddar, the beef mixture, and mozzarella. Top with remaining bread slices, butter side up.
  7. Grill each side for 3–4 minutes until golden and the cheese melts. Flip carefully.
  8. Slice and serve warm. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

For an extra kick, add sliced jalapeños or hot sauce to the beef mixture. Consider using ground turkey or chicken for a lighter version.
