Ultimate Cheesy Ground Beef Melt

A quick and satisfying sandwich with browned ground beef, soft onions, and melted cheese, perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • 4 slices of bread
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional toppings: pickles, mustard, or ketchup

Instructions

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, melt 1 tablespoon of butter. Add the diced onion and cook until softened.
  2. Add the ground beef to the skillet, season with salt and pepper, and cook until browned.
  3. Once the beef is cooked, reduce heat to low and add the shredded cheese, stirring until melted.
  4. In another skillet, melt the remaining butter. Place two slices of bread in the skillet, add the beef and cheese mixture on top, then cover with the remaining slices of bread.
  5. Cook until golden brown on one side, then flip and cook until the other side is golden and the cheese is gooey.
  6. Serve hot, adding optional toppings if desired.

Notes

For best results, drain excess fat from the beef and use low heat for melting the cheese.
