  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
  • 1 tsp five-spice powder
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp ginger, minced
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil

Instructions

  1. Mix soy sauce, honey, hoisin sauce, five-spice powder, minced garlic, minced ginger, and sesame oil in a bowl to create the marinade.
  2. Add the chicken thighs to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated.
  3. Marinate for at least 30 minutes (or up to overnight in the refrigerator for more flavor).
  4. Preheat your grill or oven to medium-high heat.
  5. Grill or roast the marinated chicken thighs for 25-30 minutes, basting with extra marinade, until cooked through and slightly charred.
  6. Let the chicken rest for a few minutes, then slice and serve.

Notes

For more flavor, let the chicken marinate overnight. Store leftover chicken in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days.
