Beef and Broccoli

A quick and delicious family favorite combining tender beef and vibrant broccoli in a savory sauce, perfect for weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb beef (flank steak or sirloin), sliced thinly
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • Cooked rice (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Mix the beef slices with 1 tablespoon of soy sauce and cornstarch; let marinate for 15 minutes.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Add the beef and stir-fry until browned; remove from the pan.
  3. In the same pan, add the remaining oil, garlic, and ginger, and stir-fry for about 30 seconds.
  4. Add broccoli and beef broth; cook until the broccoli is bright green and tender.
  5. Return the beef to the pan, add the remaining soy sauce and oyster sauce, stir to combine, and cook for another minute.
  6. Serve over hot cooked rice.

Notes

Slice the beef thinly against the grain for tenderness. Don’t overcook the broccoli; it should stay bright green and slightly crisp. Feel free to add other vegetables like bell peppers or snap peas for extra color and nutrition.
