Beef and Broccoli

A quick and delicious homemade version of the classic takeout dish, packed with protein and vibrant veggies.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound beef (sirloin or flank steak), sliced thin
  • 2 cups broccoli florets
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, minced
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooked rice, for serving

Instructions

  1. Combine the sliced beef, soy sauce, oyster sauce, and cornstarch in a bowl. Let marinate for 15 minutes.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Add the garlic and ginger, sauté until fragrant.
  3. Add the marinated beef to the pan and stir-fry until browned.
  4. Add the broccoli and beef broth to the pan. Cover and steam for 3-4 minutes until broccoli is tender.
  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Serve hot over cooked rice.

Notes

Best served hot over rice. Garnish with sesame seeds or scallions if desired. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days.
