Crispy Baked Hot Honey Chicken

A simple and tasty meal featuring crunchy breading paired with a sweet and spicy honey sauce.

  • 4 pieces Chicken Breasts
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 0.5 tablespoon Nonstick Cooking Spray
  • 1 cup Flour
  • 0.5 cup Light Brown Sugar
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 2 tablespoons Hot Sauce
  • 4 cups Cornflakes
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
  • 2 teaspoons Seasoning Mix
  • 0.5 cup Honey
  • 2 tablespoons Additional Hot Sauce
  • 4 tablespoons Butter
  • 0.25 cup Light Brown Sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Mustard Powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with foil or parchment. Spray lightly with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. Pound the chicken to even thickness and season both sides with salt and pepper.
  3. Prepare the flour, egg wash with hot sauce, and crushed cornflakes mixed with paprika and seasoning in separate shallow bowls.
  4. Dredge each chicken piece in flour, dip in egg wash, and coat with the cornflake mixture.
  5. Place on the prepared rack or sheet and spray the top with nonstick cooking spray.
  6. Bake for 20–25 minutes until the crust is golden and internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C).
  7. Meanwhile, melt butter in a saucepan then add light brown sugar, honey, additional hot sauce, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, onion powder, and mustard powder. Simmer until thickened.
  8. Brush the hot honey sauce over the baked chicken and serve immediately.

Notes

Serve with salad, fries, or soup. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days.
