1/3 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup salted butter, softened
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon sea salt
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
10 oz package dark chocolate chips
1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). If your 10-inch cast iron pan isn’t well seasoned, spray with baking non-stick spray or coat with a thin layer of butter.
2. In a medium bowl, beat the sugars, butter, and vanilla extract. Add in the egg and blend until just combined.
3. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients just until well combined.
4. Reserve 1/4 cup chocolate chips and mix in the remaining chocolate chips. Spread the dough in a 10-inch cast iron skillet and top with the reserved chocolate chips.
5. Bake at 375°F for 15–20 minutes until the center is fully cooked. Allow to cool to room temperature before serving.
