  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • Spicy hot honey (to drizzle)
  • Fresh herbs (like rosemary or thyme, optional)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  6. Punch down the dough and spread it into a greased baking pan.
  7. Press indentations into the dough with your fingers.
  8. Sprinkle minced garlic and parmesan cheese over the top.
  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Remove from the oven and drizzle with spicy hot honey before serving.

Notes

Serve warm. Cut into squares or slices. Pairs well with soups, salads, or as a bread side.
