Easy Greek Chicken Marinade

A quick and tenderizing Greek chicken marinade that adds bright flavors and works well with various cooking methods.

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs chicken (thighs, breasts, or drumsticks)
  • 2 tbsp Greek yogurt
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Zest + juice of 1 lemon
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl or mason jar, combine the Greek yogurt, olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, oregano, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. Whisk or shake well until all the ingredients mingle.
  3. Place the chicken into a large zip-top bag or shallow dish.
  4. Pour the marinade over the chicken, seal the bag or cover the dish, and massage to coat.
  5. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 24 hours for best results.
  6. Remove the chicken from the marinade and grill, bake, or sauté until cooked through.

Notes

For best results, pat the chicken dry before cooking to achieve a good sear. Use an instant read thermometer to ensure the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
