Orange Ginger Honey Cake

A warm and sweet cake that combines bright orange, spicy fresh ginger, and natural honey, resulting in a soft and moist treat.

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 1 tablespoon grated orange zest
  • 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a cake pan.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the honey, eggs, orange juice, orange zest, and ginger; mix until well combined.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Use fresh orange juice and grated ginger for best flavor. Do not overmix to keep the cake tender.
