Savory Pretzel Chicken with Mustard-Cheddar Sauce Delight

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 2 cups coarsely crushed pretzels
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 cup mustard-cheddar sauce
  • Mustard-Cheddar Sauce Ingredients:
  • ½ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Season chicken breasts with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  3. Set up three bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs and Dijon mustard, and one with crushed pretzels.
  4. Coat each chicken breast in flour, then dip in the egg mixture, and finally press into crushed pretzels.
  5. Place coated chicken on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes or until fully cooked.
  6. For the sauce: In a saucepan, heat milk over medium heat. Stir in shredded cheddar until melted.
  7. Add Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Stir until smooth.
  8. Serve chicken hot with mustard-cheddar sauce drizzled on top.
