Smash Burger Bowl

A fun and customizable meal featuring crispy potatoes, juicy beef, and savory toppings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef (lean preferred)
  • 1 lb red potatoes, diced
  • 12 cups shredded cheddar or Colby Jack cheese
  • 1 cup chopped lettuce or mixed greens
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 12 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • ¼ cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon yellow or Dijon mustard
  • ½ teaspoon Cajun seasoning (adjust to taste)
  • Pickles
  • Extra lettuce
  • Fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F. Toss the diced potatoes with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Air fry for 16–18 minutes, shaking halfway, until they’re golden and crispy.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium-low heat with a bit of olive oil. Add diced onions and cook for 10–15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they’re soft and golden. Set them aside.
  3. In the same skillet, raise the heat to medium-high. Add the ground beef, breaking it up and pressing it into the pan to create crispy edges. Cook for 5–7 minutes until browned. Season with salt and pepper, and drain any excess fat if necessary.
  4. Whisk together the mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, and Cajun seasoning in a small bowl until smooth.
  5. Start by adding the crispy potatoes to bowls. Top with the beef, caramelized onions, and shredded cheese. Drizzle with the special sauce and finish with fresh lettuce and optional toppings.
