Spicy Honey Baked Salmon

A simple, quick recipe for spicy-sweet baked salmon that cooks fast and needs few ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb (500g) salmon
  • Salt
  • Ground black pepper
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon whole grain dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Asian chili garlic sauce (or Tabasco sauce)
  • 1/2 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • Chopped parsley

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (207°C).
  2. Rinse the salmon with water and pat it dry with paper towels. Transfer the salmon to a large sheet of aluminum foil and season it with salt and ground black pepper.
  3. Combine the honey, Dijon mustard, chili garlic sauce (or Tabasco), apple cider vinegar, and sesame oil in a bowl. Stir to mix well.
  4. Add the spicy honey sauce to the salmon, spreading and coating the surface evenly.
  5. Fold and wrap the foil tightly, then bake in the oven for about 15–20 minutes (depending on the thickness of your salmon).
  6. Unwrap the salmon, garnish with parsley, and serve immediately.

Notes

Pat the salmon dry so the sauce sticks well. Do not overbake; check at 15 minutes for thinner fillets. Let it rest for 2 minutes after baking to keep juices in.
