Traditional Homemade Couscous

A flavorful and aromatic dish that brings together semoule, vegetables, meats, and spices, perfect for sharing with loved ones.

Ingredients

  • Semoule
  • Vegetables (carrots, zucchini, chickpeas)
  • Lamb meat
  • Chicken
  • Merguez sausage
  • Eastern spices (cumin, coriander, paprika)
  • Broth
  • Olive oil
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Instructions

  1. In a large plate, put the semoule and add hot water to hydrate it well.
  2. Meanwhile, in a large saucepan, heat olive oil and brown the meat pieces until golden.
  3. Add the chopped vegetables and spices, then pour in the broth to cook everything.
  4. Let it simmer until the meat and vegetables are tender.
  5. Steam the couscous above the filling to absorb the flavors.
  6. Serve the couscous by placing it on a large plate, topped with meat and vegetables.

Notes

Make sure to hydrate the semoule well for better texture. Adjust spices according to your taste preferences. Adding lemon juice at the end brings a fresh zing.
